- This standard specifies the basic principles, measurement tools and methods for determining the volume percentage of phases in microstructures using the grid number method, grid intercept method and microscope eyepiece scale method. This standard is applicable to the determination of the content (volume percentage) of various alloy phases in the microstructure, such as equiaxed, strip and branched.
