Scope
This standard specifies a digital signature scheme with message recovery using a public key system for finite-length messages. This digital signature scheme includes the following two processes: --signature process, which uses the secret signature key and signature function to sign the message; --verification process, which uses the public verification key and verification function to verify the signature, and restore out the news. During the signature process, if necessary, the message to be signed needs to be filled and expanded, and then artificial redundancy related to the message itself is added, and no assumption is made on whether there is natural redundancy in the message. This artificial redundancy will be revealed by the verification process, and the removal of this artificial redundancy will restore the message. This International Standard does not specify the key generation process, signature function and verification function. Appendix A (reminder) gives an example of a public-key system, including key generation, signature functions, and verification functions. Appendix B (reminder appendix) illustrates each step of these operations with examples. Several parameters in this scheme are relevant to safety: this standard does not prescribe what values these parameters should take in order to achieve a given level of safety. However, it is specified in such a way that in the use of this standard, if any of these parameters must be changed, the changes made are minimal.
