This standard establishes the basic requirements for the interface between ANSI/MH5 containers and their highway chassis. Such chassis are especially designed for container carriage being equipped with securing devices that engage the container at the four bottom corner fittings. This standard does not cover flatbed trailers or straight trucks even though these are sometimes used to transport containers over the road; typical chassis are shown in Figures 1 and 2.
