- This standard specifies the technical requirements and test methods for the insulation resistance and insulation strength of industrial automation instruments. This standard applies to AC and DC power supply industrial automation instruments (hereinafter referred to as instruments) used under general working conditions, and additional requirements for instruments used under special working conditions (such as: explosion-proof, waterproof, anti-corrosion, mildew-proof, heat and humidity resistance, etc.) The technical requirements and safety tests are not part of the content of this standard. This standard also applies to direct-acting industrial automation instruments (such as: direct indicating and recording instruments). This standard does not apply to system complete sets of devices. The technical requirements and test methods of insulation resistance and insulation strength shall be determined by the relevant standards or the manufacturer's regulations, or negotiated by the manufacturer and the user.
