- This standard specifies a method for the determination of aromatic hydrocarbons and olefins in automotive gasoline using Fourier transform mid-infrared spectroscopy. This standard is applicable to the determination of automotive gasoline with aromatics content in the range of 5.0% to 40.0% (volume fraction) and olefin content in the range of 1.5% to 30.0% (volume fraction). This standard does not address all safety issues related to its application. Therefore, users should establish appropriate safety and protective measures before using this standard and clarify its restricted scope of application.
