Scope
This standard specifies the headspace/gas chromatography method for the determination of benzene series in water. This standard is applicable to the determination of 8 benzene series compounds including benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, p-xylene, m-xylene, o-xylene, cumene and styrene in surface water, groundwater, domestic sewage and industrial wastewater. Since the date of implementation of this standard, the "Gas Chromatography Method for Determination of Benzene Series in Water Quality" (GB/T 11890-1989) approved and issued by the former National Environmental Protection Administration on December 25, 1989, has been included in the corresponding environmental quality standards and pollutants. Emission (control) standards are suspended during implementation.
