This document specifies qualitative and quantitative methods for determining the content of 19 phthalates (see Table 1 for specific names) in REACH using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. This document applies to plastics, rubber, textiles, leather and coating materials in automotive products. Materials in other products that have been verified to be suitable can also be measured with reference to this method. In addition to the 19 phthalate ester substances listed in this document, the remaining phthalate substances have been verified to be suitable for this method and can also be measured using this method.
