Scope

This document specifies the main methods for constructing self-administration models in non-human primates to evaluate the psychiatric dependence potential of opioids. Monkeys are used in this document as representative non-human primates. This document is not applicable to the evaluation of the psychiatric dependence potential of other drugs with central depressant mechanisms.
