Scope: This document specifies the method of chemical analysis for the determination of the fiber content of two-component mixtures of aramid fibers and certain other fibers after removal of non-fibrous matter. This document is applicable to aromatic polyamide fiber and animal fiber (silk, sheep wool, cashmere, other special animal fiber), cellulose fiber (cotton, hemp, viscose fiber, modal fiber, lyocell fiber, cupro ammonia fiber ), polyamide fibers, polyester fibers, polypropylene fibers, polyacrylonitrile fibers or two-component mixtures of certain modified polyacrylonitrile fibers.
