Scope

This document specifies a calculation method for the determination of the biobased carbon content of monomeric, polymeric and plastic materials and products, which is based on the determination of the 14C content. This document applies to plastic articles, plastic materials, polymer resins, monomers or additives containing bio-based or fossil-based components. Knowing the biobased content of plastic products helps to assess their environmental impact.
