- This standard specifies the spectrophotometric method for the determination of chlorophyll a in water. This standard applies to the determination of chlorophyll a in surface water. The detection limit of this standard for the determination of chlorophyll a in acetone extract is 0.04 mg/L. When the sampling volume is 200ml and the acetone extraction volume is 10ml, the detection limit of this method is 2μg/L and the lower limit of determination is 8μg/L.
