These requirements cover the validation tests for Polyurethane Foam used for conducting the Polyurethane Smoldering and Flaming tests outlined in UL 217@ Single and Multiple Station Smoke Alarms and UL 268@ Smoke Detectors for Fire Alarm Signaling Systems. All polyurethane foam used for the Flaming and Smoldering Polyurethane tests outlined in UL 217 and UL 268 must comply with the requirements outlined in this document. These requirements do not cover any hazards or manufacturing processes associated with polyurethane foam.
