- This standard specifies a method for the determination of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) content in rigid polyvinyl chloride (PVCU) pipes and fittings based on total chlorine content. This standard applies to rigid polyvinyl chloride pipes and fittings. Note: For pipes and fittings containing other chlorine-containing components such as chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (PVCC) or chlorinated polyethylene (CPE), the PVC content measured by this method may deviate from the actual value.
