- This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and requirements for marking, packaging, transportation and storage of phthalic anhydride. This standard applies to phthalic anhydride produced by air oxidation of naphthalene or o-xylene in the presence of a catalyst. Phthalic anhydride is mainly used in industries such as plastics, paints, dyes, and chemical fibers.
