Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation, storage, etc. of the food additive DL-tartaric acid. This standard is applicable to DL-tartaric acid obtained from maleic anhydride and hydrogen peroxide through oxidation and hydrolysis. This product is mainly used as an acidity regulator and leavening agent for candy, biscuits, canned food and other foods. Molecular formula: C4H6O6 nH2O (n = 1 for crystalline product, n = 0 for anhydrous product) Chemical name: 2,3-dihydroxysuccinic acid Relative molecular mass: 168.11 for crystalline product; 150.09 for anhydrous product (according to 1989 international relative atomic quality)
