Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the polysaccharide content in polysaccharide products using the phenol sulfuric acid method. This standard is applicable to the determination of polysaccharides in Bletilla polysaccharide products made from underground pseudobulbs of Bletilla striata (Thunb.) Reichb.f., extracted with water at high temperature and then precipitated with ethanol.
