The intention of this paper is to describe the design and testing of a cyber assurance testbed for discrete modules communicating on various vehicle communications networks with special emphasis on J1939. The implementation will leverage tools from IT security research that are applicable to heavy vehicles. Engineers and developers who lack the resources for creating such a testbed will be able to use it by virtue of remote access and user managementinterfaces. Finally@ the testbed operation will be verified byconducting a set of cyber-security related experiments.
