Scope

This document specifies a method for determining the flash point of battery electrolytes using the Abel closed cup method. This document is applicable to the determination of battery electrolytes with flash points in the range of -30°C to 70°C. The specified precision is only applicable to samples with flash points in the range of -5°C to 70°C. This document does not apply to inorganic electrolytes such as lead-acid batteries.
