Scope

This document specifies the requirements for use conditions, ratings, design and structure, testing, packaging, transportation and storage of insulators for AC gas-insulated metal enclosed transmission lines (GIL). This document applies to insulators in three-phase split-box AC gas-insulated metal-enclosed transmission lines with a rated voltage of 72.5kV and above; for insulators in three-phase common-box AC gas-insulated metal-enclosed transmission lines, please refer to this document.
