Scope

This standard specifies the emission limits of exhaust pollutants from light vehicles with ignition engines in use using the simple transient operating condition method. This standard applies to in-use light vehicles equipped with ignition engines. This standard does not apply to full-time four-wheel drive light vehicles, nor does it apply to road inspections and random inspections.
