Scope: This document specifies the requirements for the type and layout of securing facilities and securing points on road vehicles transported by sea ro-ro ships, as well as marking methods, identification and plate requirements. This document is applicable to N2, N3 and O3, O4 vehicles (excluding semi-trailers) and the automobile trains composed of them. Vehicles used for water ro-ro transportation can be implemented as a reference. This document does not apply to semi-trailers and special-purpose vehicles that only have towing functions, nor does it apply to empty commercial vehicles transported by ro-ro ships for delivery only. Note 1: For vehicles with vehicle parameters beyond the general situation (especially when the height of the center of mass exceeds the normal range), the location and number of special securing points need to be considered. Note 2: Appendix A gives the requirements for the arrangement of securing facilities widely used on ro-ro ships recommended by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
