Under the specified temperature and load, the melt volume flow rate (MVR) is measured from the molten material extruded through the die of the specified length and inner hole diameter, and converted into the melt mass flow rate (MFR) through calculation. To measure MVR, record the displacement of the piston within a specified time or the time required for the piston to move a specified distance, and calculate the extrusion rate, expressed in cm3/10min. Multiply the measured MVR value by the melt density of the material to calculate the MFR, expressed in g/10min.
