- This document specifies the principles, reagents and materials, instruments and equipment, test procedures, result calculation and precision for the determination of synthetic musk in cosmetics by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. This document is applicable to the determination of 11 kinds of synthetic musk in liquid, lotion, cream cosmetics, lipstick, and powder cosmetics. The 11 kinds of synthetic musks are 5 kinds of prohibited and restricted nitro musks, including musk of parasol, sunflower musk, Tibetan musk, ketone musk and xylene musk, and 6 kinds of polycyclic musk, including Gala musk, Tuna musk, Kaixu musk. Plum, Truss, Sally Musk and Pink Sandalwood Musk.
