Scope
Form This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of bars and forgings up through 6.000 inches (152.40 mm)@ inclusive@ in diameter or least distance between parallel sides with a maximum cross-sectional area of 48 square inches (309.70 cm2) and forging stock of any size (See 8.7). Application These products have been used typically for parts requiring moderate strength with a maximum service temperature in the 750 to 900 ??(399 to 510 ?? range depending on time at temperature where the product is to be used in the annealed condition@ but usage is not limited to such applications. Certain processing procedures and service conditions may cause these products to become subject to stresscorrosion cracking; ARP982 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.
