Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, general provisions, longitudinal wave testing, transverse wave testing, testing reports, etc. for ultrasonic testing of artificial crystal kettles in service (hereinafter referred to as "crystal kettles"). This standard is applicable to the ultrasonic testing of steel crystal kettle bodies with a ratio of inner and outer diameters ≥ 50% by pulse reflection ultrasonic testing.
