1.0.1 This specification is formulated to standardize the excavation and construction of deep underground caverns for hydropower and water conservancy projects and ensure project safety and quality. 1.0.2 This specification is applicable to the excavation construction of deep underground caverns for large and medium-sized hydropower and water conservancy projects. 1.0.3 The excavation construction of deep underground caverns should actively adopt new technologies, new techniques, new processes, new materials and new equipment that have been tested or demonstrated. 1.0.4 In addition to complying with this specification, the excavation construction of deep underground caverns for hydropower and water conservancy projects should also comply with the relevant current national standards.
