This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transportation, storage and shelf life of dipotassium glycyrrhizinate for toothpaste. This standard applies to licorice (leguminous plants Glycyrrhizauralensis Fisch., Glycyrrhiza in flata Bat. and Glycyrrhiza glabra L.), which has been processed through water extraction, acidification precipitation with sulfuric acid (or hydrochloric acid), ethanol extraction, ammoniation, and crystallization. Dipotassium glycyrrhizinate is prepared by ion exchange, potassium adjustment and other processes. This standard also applies to raw materials for oral care and cleaning products such as toothpaste, oral cleaning care solution, and denture stabilizer.
