This part specifies the more practical stress corrosion test methods for low alloy structural steel and their loading system, test conditions, specimen design and preparation, stress corrosion test tank, result processing and evaluation, and test reports. This section applies to the quality control and preparation process improvement of low-alloy structural steel during the manufacturing process, and also applies to the evaluation of the stress corrosion resistance of low-alloy structural steel components in actual or simulated service environments. The stress corrosion involved in this section includes localized non-uniform corrosion under the action of tensile stress, stress corrosion cracking and hydrogen embrittlement caused by electrochemical hydrogen evolution.
