- This document specifies the technical requirements for the mechanical and physical properties, chemical properties, mildew resistance, environmental performance, appearance, material and other technical requirements of polyester fiber water-blocking yarn (hereinafter referred to as water-blocking yarn) for communication cables and optical cables, and describes the corresponding test methods and Inspection rules stipulate packaging, marking, transportation and storage, etc., and also provide product models and markings. This document applies to the design, manufacture, use and inspection of water-blocking yarns for communication cables, optical cables, and optical and electrical hybrid cables. Note: This document does not include aramid fiber water-blocking yarn and glass fiber water-blocking yarn with reinforcing function as the main function and water-blocking function as the supplement. The relevant requirements are specified in YD/T 1181.2 and YD/T 1181.4.
