- This standard specifies the spectral analysis method for the migration of formaldehyde and hexamethylenetetramine from plastic packaging materials and products in contact with food into food or food simulants. This standard is applicable to the determination and verification of formaldehyde hexamethylenetetramine migration in plastic packaging materials and products that come into contact with food. The minimum concentration of formaldehyde detected in food simulants by this method is 3. 0 mg/kg.
