- This document specifies the terms and definitions, principles, equipment, measurement procedures, error analysis and reporting requirements for the determination of residual stress inside disks/annular forgings of metal materials using the profiling method. This document is applicable to the determination of the chordwise residual stress surface distribution inside metal material disks/annular forgings. The measurement of chordwise residual stress of other shaped workpieces with symmetrical structures can be used as a reference.
