Steelmaking protective materials are mainly used for steelmaking continuous casting, die casting and surface covering of molten steel. They protect the surface temperature of molten steel from lowering, prevent oxidation and ensure normal steelmaking production. The material also has the function of adsorbing impurities in molten steel. Inorganic non-metallic materials, some of which require high-temperature calcination, are also new high-temperature materials. This standard specifies the terms and definitions of energy consumption limits per unit product of steel-making protective materials, energy consumption requirements, energy-saving management and measures, and energy-saving supervision. It is applicable to the energy consumption calculation and assessment of steel-making protective materials and the energy consumption control of new projects. It facilitates enterprise energy efficiency benchmarking, emission reduction, green production, and low-carbon development.
