This document specifies the classification and type, requirements, markings, instructions for use, packaging, transportation and storage of endoscope cleaning workstations (hereinafter referred to as endoscope workstations), and describes the corresponding test methods. This document applies to endoscopy workstations mainly used in medical institutions for manual cleaning of soft or rigid endoscopes and for disinfection using chemical disinfectants. This document does not apply to products used for cleaning and disinfection of medical devices other than flexible endoscopes and rigid endoscopes.
