Scope
This standard specifies a gas chromatography method for the determination of the content of six spice ingredients in feed flavorings, including ethyl lactate, butyl lactate, maltol, ethyl maltol, methylcyclopentenolone and ethyl vanillin. This standard is applicable to the determination of the content of ethyl lactate, butyl lactate, maltol, ethyl maltol, methylcyclopentenolone and ethyl vanillin in feed flavoring agents (powders). The detection limit of this method is: ethyl lactate 37.5 mg/kg; butyl lactate, maltol, and ethyl vanillin are all 20.0 mg/kg; ethyl maltol 17.5 mg/kg; methylcyclopentenolone 15.0 mg/kg.
