- This standard specifies an electrical thermal resistance test method for the thermal characteristics of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) or LED arrays. This standard is applicable to LEDs powered by DC, and under the condition that there is no self-heating, the forward voltage of the LED to be tested should have an obvious linear relationship with the ambient temperature. This standard is applicable to the testing of thermal resistance and junction temperature under steady-state and transient conditions in laboratory environments and small batches of single LEDs and LED arrays of a certain structure (including series, parallel, and mixed LEDs). This standard does not apply to thermal resistance and junction temperature testing of laser diodes.
