This document describes a test method for the automatic determination of the hardness of coatings using pendulum damping on flat surfaces of single or multi-layer coatings on an acceptable rigid surface, such as a metal or glass panel. This method includes method A using Konig's pendulum and method B using Persoz pendulum. This method is suitable for the pendulum damping test of relevant coatings (paints, varnishes) applied according to appropriate methods.
