This standard specifies three methods for the determination of sodium cyclamate in food—gas chromatography, colorimetry, and thin-layer chromatography. This standard gas chromatography and colorimetry are applicable to the determination of sodium cyclamate in beverages, preserved fruits and other foods; thin-layer chromatography is applicable to the determination of sodium cyclamate in beverages, fruit juices, jams, and pastries. It can be detected if the sample contains 0.1g/kg sodium cyclamate, and the minimum detection amount is 3-4μg sodium cyclamate.
