Scope
This document describes a bending test method for the determination of through-thickness (out-of-plane) tensile strength, tensile strain to failure, and tensile modulus of carbon fiber reinforced plastic composite (CFRP) laminates. This document applies to carbon fiber reinforced plastic composite unidirectional (UD-CFRP) laminates. In addition, due to the size effect of the through-thickness tensile strength, the calculation of the effective volume is also described.
