- This standard specifies the high performance liquid chromatography method and positive verification method for the determination of maleic acid and maleic anhydride monomer migration in plastic packaging materials and products in contact with food. This standard is applicable to the determination and verification of the migration amount of maleic acid and maleic anhydride in plastic packaging materials and products in contact with food. The minimum concentration of maleic acid detected in food simulants by this method is 5 mg/kg.
