This document specifies a method for the determination of halogenated benzylmethane (monomethyldibromodiphenylmethane, monomethyldichlorodiphenylmethane and monomethyltetrachlorodiphenylmethane) in automotive materials. This document is applicable to the determination of halogenated benzylmethane content in materials such as plastics, rubber and coatings in automotive products. Materials in other products that have been verified to be suitable can also be measured with reference to this method.
