Scope

This standard specifies the ultraviolet spectrophotometric method for the determination of petroleum in water. This standard applies to the determination of petroleum in surface water, groundwater and seawater. When the sampling volume is 500 ml, the extraction liquid volume is 25 ml, and a 2 cm quartz cuvette is used, the detection limit of the method is 0.01 mg/L, and the lower determination limit is 0.04 mg/L. 2
