- This standard specifies the method for detecting the residual stress of spring (coil springs, leaf springs and stabilizer bars, hereinafter referred to as "springs") specimens using the principle of X-ray diffraction. The content includes the sources and classification of elastic residual stress, and the principle of X-ray stress testing. And methods, instruments, procedures, data processing, test uncertainty and test reports. This standard is applicable to the residual stress testing of springs made of ferritic, pearlitic, bainitic, martensite and austenitic steels. Other springs can be used as a reference.
