Scope
This standard specifies a purge-and-trap/gas chromatography-cold atomic fluorescence spectrometry method for the determination of methylmercury and ethylmercury in soils and sediments. This standard applies to the determination of methylmercury and ethylmercury in soil and sediments. When the sampling volume is 0.5 g and the extraction liquid volume is 30 ml, the method detection limits of methylmercury and ethylmercury are both 0.2 μg/kg, and the lower determination limits are both 0.8 μg/kg. See Appendix A for details.
