In the era of the Internet of Everything, IoT equipment products come in various forms and have a wide range of uses. They have penetrated into all aspects of the economy and society, greatly improving social production efficiency. There are many technical standards for IoT devices, and each manufacturer has its own IoT product identification and coding methods, but different manufacturers are usually incompatible with each other. In order to supervise equipment, collect equipment information, optimize products and services, and improve product interconnection capabilities, TAF has formulated a unified coding method for IoT equipment; on this basis, TAF will study and formulate unified technical requirements and testing methods for IoT equipment to provide the basis for the Internet of Things. Equipment development and manufacturing provide technical basis, which can be used for certification testing of equipment, and can also be used as a reference for manufacturers and operating departments to conduct quality inspection and performance testing of equipment. Referring to communication standard practices, "IoT terminal" and "terminal" are used in the technical requirements and test methods chapters of this document to refer to "IoT devices".
