Scope: This document describes test methods for stability, strength, and durability of fully assembled beds, including bed frames and bed surfaces. This document applies to all types of beds for adults and does not apply to water beds, air beds, folding beds, bunk beds, beds for special needs or beds for nursing and medical use. This document does not include evaluation methods for product aging, degradation, fire protection and electrical functions. The strength and durability of storage components, seating surfaces, and other bed-related features are tested to other standards. Additional tests apply if the bed has additional features such as storage, electrical adjustment or conversion from a sofa to a bed. This document does not specify the load, number of cycles and force values, which are specified by the requirements document. If there is no required document, you can refer to the recommended load and number of cycles in Appendix A, etc. The test methods in this document do not evaluate the durability of soft packages, such as filling materials and cladding.
