Scope

This standard specifies the principles, instruments and equipment, and analytical procedures for the determination of formic acid content in health foods. Formic acid (formic acid) and isopropyl alcohol in the sample generate isopropyl formate under heating conditions using concentrated sulfuric acid as a catalyst.
