- Scope
- This document specifies the specimen size, specimen preparation, test procedures and evaluation methods for external load thermal crack tests such as hot tensile test, adjustable restraint test, transverse adjustable restraint test, program-controlled flat plate tensile test and other external load thermal crack tests. This document is applicable to the hot crack susceptibility assessment of austenitic stainless steel, nickel and nickel-based alloys, nickel-copper alloy base materials and welding materials. This document may also be used for other materials such as aluminum alloys and high-strength steels if agreed between the parties to the contract.
