This document specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage, and safety requirements for coal-based light crude ethylene glycol. This document applies to light crude ethylene glycol products made from coal that are by-products during the production of polyester grade ethylene glycol using the oxalate ester method.
