This standard specifies a method for determining the gloss of paint coatings using a photoelectric gloss meter with a measuring angle of 45°. This method is used to determine the gloss of paint coatings applied to flat glass plates or opaque surfaces without structural defects. The method does not apply to the determination of the gloss of textured paint and varnish coatings (decorative hammer, moiré, shagreen, frost), coatings with a metallic effect, glaze coatings, since the structure and properties of the surface of the paint and varnish coating have a significant impact on the determination of gloss and may lead to distortion of the results obtained
