Scope

This standard specifies the method for the determination of acrolein, acrylonitrile and acetaldehyde in water using a purge and trap gas chromatograph. This standard is applicable to the determination of acrolein, acrylonitrile and acetaldehyde in surface water, groundwater and drinking water. When the sampling volume is 10 mL, the detection limits are: acrolein 5.12 μg/L, acrylonitrile 6.04 μg/L, and acetaldehyde 4.97 μg/L.
